Due to continuing concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated threat to people with heart and/or lung disease, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) highly discourages open burning at this time to reduce the potential for additional respiratory effects from smoke.

FLMD will temporarily close the Slash pile starting Monday, March 23, 2020, and it will remain closed until we receive further information from the CDPHE.

We encourage residents to utilize the Bayfield Transfer Station or Bondad landfill in the interim.  Do not place slash or brush in the dumpsters!  Those that are doing that are causing unnecessary costs for the rest of the residents!  We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your patience as we continue to take steps to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.  The trash dumpsters are not impacted and will remain open. Please call our office at 970-884-2925 if you need additional information.
