FLMD Statement about Coronavirus

Forest Lakes Metropolitan District offices will be closed to the public through, Sunday, May 31st, 2020.  The extension of the District closure is in support of federal, state and local agencies’ efforts to minimize the spread of COVID-19. All essential operations will continue and there will not be any disruption to your water, sewer, road maintenance or trash services. During this period, customers can still make payments via our website or by dropping payments off at the Admin Office or at the Mailstop (FLMD Drop Box).  In the case of an emergency, please call 970-884-2925 and a District representative will respond appropriately. The District will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and respond as necessary.

District staff are practicing social distancing to keep employees healthy and safe. These measures allow the District to continue to our services that meet all safety and regulatory requirements.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the COVID-19 virus has not been detected in drinking water, and water system treatment processes remove or destroy 99.99% of all viruses.  For more information on COVID-19 and drinking water, please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html  or https://www.epa.gov/coronavirus/coronavirus-and-drinking-water-and-wastewater.
